The vendor is required to provide for fee accounting services for the one (1) year period commencing around July 1, 2025 and ending on June 30, 2026.
- It is the housing authority’s desire to retain and employ a duly qualified accountant or accounting firm to act as its accountant in all financial matters which may arise in connection with the business and management of its various housing programs.
• Establish and maintain the accounting books and records, including monthly postings to the general ledger.
• The books must be maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and the classification and description of accounts as prescribed by the country department of housing and urban development (“HUD”).
• Prepare and file budgets, reports, financial statements and forms as required by new jersey state law, HUD, the department and the housing authority.
• Preparation and filing of 1099 forms, as required.
• Prepare and electronically submit all financial reports as needed.
• Attend meetings with the housing authority board of commissioners (“board”), housing authority staff, HUD, HUD auditors, and independent auditors as requested by the executive director.
• Prepare reconciliation of balances of tenants’ accounts whenever the summary of transaction with tenants (as furnished by the housing authority) does not agree with the accountant’s control records.
• Prepare audit work papers for independent audit.
• Prepare monthly financial reports for housing authority board meetings.
