The vendor is required to provide to conduct a comprehensive field audit for energy services within its electric service territory.
- Residential energy audit:
1. Building envelope assessment:
• Inspection of insulation (attic, walls, floors, crawlspaces)
• Air leakage testing (blower door test)
• Windows and doors efficiency assessment
• Thermal imaging to detect insulation gaps
2. HVAC system analysis:
• Efficiency of heating and cooling systems
• Duct leakage testing
• Thermostat settings and control strategies
3. Appliance and lighting review:
• Energy consumption of refrigerators, washers, dryers, and other appliances
• Lighting efficiency (led vs. incandescent)
4. Water heating efficiency:
• Water heater condition and efficiency
• Hot water pipe insulation and leak detection
5. Behavioral recommendations:
• Energy-saving habits
• Smart home technology recommendations
- Commercial energy audit
1. Building envelope and insulation:
• Roof, walls, and window insulation levels
• Air leakage testing
• Window glazing and shading analysis
2. HVAC system and ventilation:
• Efficiency of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems
• Air balancing and occupancy-based control strategies
• Building automation system (BAS) optimization
3. Lighting system evaluation:
• Lighting power density calculations
• Occupancy sensors and daylight harvesting strategies
• Led retrofit analysis and cost savings
4. Plug loads and equipment efficiency:
• Office equipment, refrigeration, and industrial machinery energy consumption
• Power factor correction and demand-side management
• Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and standby power analysis
5. Water heating and usage:
• Water heater efficiency and insulation
• Low-flow fixtures and leak detection
• Cooling tower efficiency in large buildings
• Compressed air and process systems (for industrial & large facilities):
