External Audit Services

The vendor is required to provide for auditing the city’s financial statements for the fiscal years ending December 31, 2025 to December 31, 2029.
- Services include:
• Ensure the audit is conducted in compliance with public sector accounting standards and any applicable federal, provincial, and municipal regulations.
• Leverage audit technology to improve efficiency, including secured digital collaboration platforms.
• Ensure secure data transfer from the entity's financial system (sap s/4hana) to the audit team.
• Conduct a full audit of the organization’s financial statements in accordance with public sector accounting standards.
• Review internal controls and assess compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
• Provide an opinion on whether the financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of the city and related entities.
• Conduct an interim audit, as required, to assess the internal control environment and pre year-end testing.
• Issue an audit report, a management letter, and attend presentations to management and elected officials (e.g., audit committee or city council) as required.
• Incorporate the use of audit technology for document sharing, real-time collaboration, and secured transfer of audit materials.
• Facilitate secure data transfer directly from the organization's sap s/4hana ERP system.
• Exercise every reasonable endeavor to maintain staff continuity on the assigned project team, particularly at the manager and partner level.
• To express an opinion on the organization’s financial statements.
• To ensure adherence to public sector accounting standards and provide recommendations for improvements.
• To provide guidance and support on implementation of new accounting standards.
• To identify any material misstatements, fraud, or areas of inefficiency.
