The vendor is required to provide in need of a registered municipal accountant to provide municipal audit services in accordance with act.
- Exclusive of consulting accountant services to assist with general accounting, bookkeeping or budget preparation.
- Audit fieldwork will be designed to provide reasonable assurance that the financial statements are free from material misstatement.
- The auditor will communicate with city administration in advance of filing for an extension. Said communication shall identify all issues that caused delays in audit fieldwork, including action taken, or not taken in attempt to avoid delays.
- Audit support is limited to as-needed technical advice.
- Should circumstances change, creating the need for extensive involvement of the audit firm, the firm will provide a proposal based upon estimated hours and established billing rates.
- The auditor shall meet with the audit committee at least three times to discuss audit plans, expectations and progress; prior to audit field work, mid-way through audit field work and upon completing audit field work (exit conference).
- Auditors shall review and confirm prior year annual audit with staff to ensure proper recording of audit entries.
- Auditors shall attend meetings as requested in order to provide technical assistance.
- Will not consult or provide advice on any accounting or financial issues; other than recommending general ledger adjusting entries for items detected during the audit.
- This engagement is strictly limited to performing the annual audit, assistance and other budgetary related duties cited above.
- Management advisory services and accounting or bookkeeping services are expressly excluded.
