- Single-family residence (SFR) curbside waste audit
• The commencement of the audit, the successful respondent shall work with municipal staff to determine the sample areas and the specific households to sample from in accordance with industry standards and guidelines for curbside waste composition studies in state, including the continuous improvement fund’s terms of reference, 2015.
- Waste depot (non-curbside) residential waste audit
• Collect and sample material generated by non-curbside single-family residence at selected municipal waste depots.
• Sampling shall only be conducted using drop-offs from eligible residents who present a valid waste depot access permit, which identifies them as non-curbside users of municipal waste services.
• Participant shall present their waste depot access permit at the time of interview.
• Waste from users without a valid permit shall not be collected or sampled.
• Ineligible users may include curbside-serviced residents disposing extra waste for a fee, businesses, contractors, or users with unknown service types
- Audit schedule (2026)
• The waste audit shall occur over three audit periods, with one provisional audit period that may be executed only if approved by the municipality.
• The successful respondent shall conduct one curbside audit and one waste depot audit during each implemented audit period.
• The curbside waste audit and the waste depot waste audit shall be carried out in close succession, with no extended gaps between them, to ensure that both components of the audit reflect similar seasonal and weather conditions.
