The vendor is required to provide property management services to the public guardian, a division of the county department of mental health, responsible for administering the estates of individuals under conservatorship.
- The contractor must inspect all personal property items for sale at the location where the items are stored prior to the auction.
- Request from the county’s contract manager, or designee, the contractor must provide an estimate of the monetary value of the personal property items.
- The county’s written approval, the contractor may select an appraiser to provide expertise in valuing special personal property items.
- Provide tables and display counters for the auction.
- The contractor will be responsible for providing any additional display cabinets and other equipment as required.
- The agency will provide the contractor access to the personal property items.
- The contractor will move, relocate, and/or reposition personal property items in preparation for the auction.
- Lotting must include researching, sorting, organizing by value, cataloging, photographing, and displaying personal property items.
- Provide the auction lot information to the county’s contract manager or designee, no later than five business days prior to the auction.
- Responsible and liable for the loss, theft, or damage of the personal property items attributable to the contractor or the contractor’s staff.
- The contractor will, within ten business days prior to the auction, develop a marketing plan for each auction and provide the plan to the agency for review and approval.
- The contractor is responsible for safeguarding all personal property items available for auction and all cash handling of auction proceeds.
- The contractor must immediately contact the county’s contract manager, or designee, in the event of unforeseen circumstances, at any point during the auction process; the contractor will confer with the county’s contract manager, or designee, before final resolution.
- Reduce, suspend, or cancel this contract for systematic, deliberate misrepresentations or unacceptable levels of performance.
