The vendor is required to provide the family child care curricula programs must support providers in serving children of different ages simultaneously in one group.
- Provide an estimated amount of 1,000 curricula and 5,000 assessments per year.
- The contractor must meet the following requirements:
• The curriculum must be available in english and Spanish.
• The curriculum must be created and have research evidence for its valid use in family child care homes.
• The language and literacy domain of the curriculum must focus on emergent and early literacy skills with the essential belief that all learners will learn and grow.
• The curriculum must provide content and teaching practices that are developmentally appropriate for use in family child care settings from birth through kindergarten.
• The offerors must cite research, evaluation, and/or any impact studies conducted in support of the curriculum content.
• The curriculum must be able to be used with children with disabilities and include adaptations, modifications, and instructional learning variations and universal design for learning to meet the individual child’s needs.
• Contractor must identify how the curriculum supports responsive practices associated with positive learning and child outcomes of growth and development.
• The contractor’s proposed plan must be sufficiently detailed to communicate to department that the contractor has an understanding of the scope of work requirements.
• The curriculum must include ongoing child assessment.
• The assessment must be available in electronic and/or physical formats.
• Assessments must be approved by the department of children and youth for step up to quality.
• The curriculum must include resources that promote parent and family engagement and support cultural and linguistic responsiveness.
• The curriculum must include guidance on how to set up the learning environment, developmentally appropriate routines, and learning experiences and interactions to support development across the domains.
• The curriculum must be available at a minimum in a physical format. electronic formats are an optional service.
• The contractor must provide a mechanism for answering questions from program providers as to how to access the curriculum materials.
• The contractor must not market directly to state providers and will not renew any online content, send emails, or communications without the explicit review and approval of department.
• The contractor must utilize a platform or process to receive orders for paper or online curricula.
• The contractor must utilize a platform or process to receive orders for paper or online child assessments.
• The contractor must ship or make curricula available to requesting program contact.
• The contractor must provide a monthly invoice and report of orders, by requesting program license number, to department for all curricula sent and/or provided; and child assessments ordered or utilized.
• The contractor must provide training necessary to fully implement curriculum with fidelity; and/or allow a third-party trainer approved by department access to the curriculum materials at no additional charge.
