The vendor is required to provide armed security guard services at various city facilities.
- Providing a safe and secure environment for employees, clients, and visitors, it is essential that proactive measures are in place to protect the city’s assets and personnel across all locations.
- Provide security guard services at parking decks and perform citywide patrol as described below:
1. Parking deck control
• Consists of patrolling various city parking decks using a vehicle, which will not be provided by the city, and also by foot.
• The contract shall supply and maintain all vehicles required for the patrol, and shall be solely responsible for all associated costs, including but not limited to acquisition, maintenance, insurance, and fuel.
2. City wide patrol
• Consist of patrolling all city facilities using a vehicle, which will not be provided by the city and responding to incidents 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
• This patrol shall require the use of a minimum of four vehicles, all of which shall be supplied and maintained by the contractor at the contractor's sole expense.
• The contractor shall bear all costs associated with the vehicles, including but not limited to purchase, maintenance, insurance, and fuel.
- Provide armed security guards for services rendered for events and on other occasions when requested in writing by the city’s contract administrator.
- Provide the following at each location mentioned in this section 2.1:
• Professional security for city-owned and city-occupied facilities, including, where required and as necessary, armed response
• Adequate resources to provide up to 24-hour a day security
• Security guards who have an understanding of physical security, an ability to write reports, ability to communicate, and interact with the general public
• Security guards who have the ability to properly monitor and operate an advanced, computerized security command center with alarm and video detection capability that consist of cctv, duress alarms and image recall.
• Security guards who project a positive and authoritative image at each facility to which they are assigned.
