The vendor is required to provide for security guard services for agency programs and schools.
- Security guards will assist with providing a safe educational and working environment at agency locations by performing the following functions are part of their work duties and responsibilities.
- Security guards are not to oversee or supervise individual students or classrooms without staff.
- Maintain and adhere to the visitor sign-in process under agency protocols by ensuring that visitors, contractors, and staff are signed in with the use of the visitor management and access control systems
- Greet visitors enforce sign-in procedures and provide directions and information
- Security guards will be interacting with administrators, outside agencies, visitors, staff, and management while demonstrating a positive attitude, and must have a friendly, outgoing, yet, professional demeanor.
- Be literate in the English language, able to speak, as well as read and understand written orders.
- Be able to write up incident reports and report to the proper personnel to include keeping accurate records.
- Be able to take direction from the principal, vice-principal, or administrator/director
- Have the ability to be flexible and help out where needed.
- Have the ability to stand or walk for long periods
- Be able to lift fifty (50) pounds
- Monitor security cameras and report suspicious incidents to the administrator and or law enforcement
- Be observant of trespassers and unauthorized persons and vehicles
- Control vehicular traffic by assisting with parking and traffic control on the property
- Assist school staff oversee student population in overall common areas such as gym, cafeteria, theater, playground, and related areas
- Escort students and visitors as needed including escorting employees to their vehicles as necessary
- Open/close/secure building if required
- Respond to all emergencies and be able to implement emergency procedures as needed
- Ability to initiate lockdown, evacuation, and secure the building
- Report and hazardous conditions, which could cause personal injury (such as but not limited to trip and fall hazards, locating dangerous items) this inoperable school property or equipment
- Respond to all telephone and portable radio calls including carrying a portable radio and respond immediately to teachers/administrator’s requests for assistance with students
- Patrol and monitor all corridors, stairwells, restrooms, cafeteria, gymnasium, theater, classrooms, and other areas pertinent to agency
- Be able to work agency activities, events and functions off-site authorized by agency director of security (proms, award ceremonies, and graduations)
- Contract Period/Term: 2 years
