The vendor is required to provide of professional school crossing guard services to ensure the safety and security of children as they navigate busy roadways to and from local schools.
- Provide total of twelve (12) school crossing guards at the locations.
- All services must be initiated by the start of the school year, typically in august, subject to schedule confirmation with the city.
- Each school crossing guard and supervisor shall work two shifts per day, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., total of 3 hours per day.
- All crossing guards must possess a valid background check, ensuring there are no criminal records that would impede their ability to work with children.
- Crossing guards must have current certifications in first aid and CPR.
- All employees utilized for the city as school crossing guards must report any criminal charges brought against them immediately as they may occur.
- Provide persons who are neat, clean, well-groomed and courteous and at least twenty- one (21) years of age.
- Ensure that adequate employees are available for the backup of any crossing guard in case of absenteeism.
- Each backup shall be fully trained and familiar with the specific crossing location.
- The use of tobacco products, e-cigarettes, listening to or using a multimedia device including but not limited an iPod, mp3 player, portable radio, headset or cell phone are prohibited while providing school crossing guard services.
- Using a communication device other than for emergencies, or official business related to contract is prohibited.
- Contract Period/Term: 3 years
