Security Guard Services

The Vendor is required to provide a security guard who is qualified to carry and use a handgun, baton, pepper spray or other non-lethal chemical agent in the course and or employment.
- The guards shall include:
• Patrolling all assigned posts or beats, either in vehicles or on foot, including buildings and ferryboats.
• Patrolling ferry terminals and berths to confirm mooring lines are intact.
• Chalking tires and recording space numbers for vehicles at larkspur ferry terminal parking lot.
• Identifying unauthorized persons on or in district-owned property.
• Patrolling district parking lots for abandoned, vandalized or unauthorized vehicles, and delivering daily check lists in person or electronically to the office.
• Identifying and reporting any suspicious articles or persons on district property.
• Checking-in upon start and end of each shift at county with the night mechanic-on-duty.
• Relocating lost and found bikes – guard shall check in with county graveyard dispatcher. 
• They will advise if there are any bikes. 
• Guard shall secure bike at appropriate lost and found location.
• Providing an unarmed security guard twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. At no time shall any required shift(s) be left unfilled for any reason.
• Ensuring general safety and security of the facility and employees onsite.
• Performing security patrols to detect, investigate and contact the appropriate person(s) or outside agencies (police, fire, and EMS).
• Preparing written reports of activities.
• Responding, as directed by staff, to security related incidents.
• Utilizing a detex proxipen (or a similar approved device) tracking system during routine patrols.
• Patrolling the entire facility to provide a visible presence to discourage unauthorized entry, vandalism, or other crimes.
