The Vendor is required to provide unarmed security guard services for various agency properties in accordance with the requirements detailed below on various projects as the need arises and as directed by agency safety and security department.
- These services include, but are not limited to, routinely scheduled projects and emergency response situations.
- Services include:
• must ensure their guards are properly trained prior to performing any duties required under the contract.
• The guards must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• The guards must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least two (2) years of experience in security/law enforcement work.
• The guards must be able to speak, read, and write English in a clear and concise manner.
• The guards must be able to read, understand, and apply printed rules and directions.
• The guards must have the ability to meet and deal positively and courteously with the general public.
• The guards must be in good health and be able to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
• The guards must be able to climb stairs, run, and lift objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
• Must maintain a current first-aid certification for the guards and be able to show their certification card upon request.
• Must provide a list of guards certified to perform CPR by the American Red Cross or the American heart association, or another recognized certifying body.
• Daily locking and unlocking of the facility’s public access, front door.
• Operating and enforcing a system of security checkpoints for all visitors at the entrance doors of facilities, to include the operation of a walk-through metal detector system, hand-held metal detector wand, checking of handbags, packages, etc.
• Agency employees are not subject to the security checkpoint procedures as long as they display their id Badges and enter through the main entrance
• Only admitting authorized personnel and visitors to the facility’s restricted access areas.
• Making building inspection rounds at least once at the beginning of the guard’s shift, once in the middle of the shift, and once before the end of the shift.
• Checking for fires, unauthorized persons, mechanical system alarms, secured doors, unnecessary lights, and other things as specified by the project manager or designee.
• The guard shall perform building rounds when entrance traffic at the facility is reduced.
• Prior to beginning rounds, the guard shall notify agency administrative staff or reception staff.
