The vendor is required to provide security guard duties and responsibilities under this contract shall include, but not necessarily be limited to:
• Providing surveillance and control of ingress and egress to the specified buildings, grounds and parking areas, including utilizing a state-provided cctv camera system to monitor all internal and external areas of the property;
• Performing a visual check of employee badges upon entry, if requested by facilities personnel;
• Directing visitors to sign in, verifying their signature and identity, and requiring them to sign out when they leave the facility;
• Investigating incidents and accidents committed or occurring on state property;
• Communicating, cooperating, and assisting law enforcement and investigating authorities with federal, state, and local jurisdiction (i.e., fire department, police department, sheriff’s department, investigation, and the federal bureau of investigation).
• Monitoring of facility fire and life safety features including orderly control of evacuations, drills, and other exercises that instruct tenants and visitors about facility safety;
• Identifying and reporting all existing or potential safety hazards and risks to the facilities director;
• Patrolling the building interior, facility perimeter, and parking garage as instructed in post orders;
• Maintaining awareness of facility conditions relative to general safety and security;
• Staying with visitors in lobby or loading dock areas during business and non-business hours until such time as a state employee escorts them to their destination inside the facility and back to the lobby or the loading dock area for the purpose of signing in or out;
• Providing directions, information, and assistance when necessary to support the security of State employees and visitors on state property;
• Performing security - related tasks as directed by the facilities director;
• Providing ad hoc security for special events or unforeseen requirements, when provided at least twenty-four (24) hours’ notices by the state;
• Locking, unlocking, and checking entrance and exit doors at times designated in the post orders;
• The guard shall begin the first physical round of the interior of the building within an hour of shift start and shall conduct the last round within one (1) hour before the end of shift.
