The Vendor is required to provide for Security Guard Services - Unarmed and Armed, at State facilities throughout eight (8) regions in the State.
- Security Guards assigned through the resulting Contract(s) will be responsible for maintaining security and protecting property and/or persons at a state facility.
- This will include assigned stations and/or patrol of State owned or leased buildings and immediate grounds to protect against trespass, vandalism, fire, theft, property damage and other hazards or, enforce parking regulations at State owned or leased property or facilities
- Some Authorized Users may require 24/7 on-site guard presence; others need coverage only during regular business hours. Still, others may only require services on weekends or during unique events.
- Security Guard – Unarmed
• Security Guard - Unarmed shall be responsible for maintaining security and protecting property and/or persons at a state facility.
• The primary focus is to move staff, customers and the general public to safety, render aid when necessary and/or to report disturbance, vandalism, etc. to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
• Building lock-up/unlocks
• Monitor facility for unsafe conditions/hazards
• Perform employee escorts
• Front desk coverage
• Visitor management; monitor entrances and exits; prevent unapproved or unlawful entry
• Monitoring and acceptance of deliveries and packages
• Foot patrol and/or vehicle patrol
• Parking enforcement
• Assist with building evacuation for drills or real emergencies
• Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather and other incidents
• Record events/activities in logs and reports
• Professional and courteous interaction with state employees, visitors and general public
• Notify appropriate law enforcement agency of any problems with visitors, suspicious individuals or packages, damage or threat of damage to State property.
- Security Guard – Armed
• Security Guard - Armed shall be responsible for maintaining security and protecting property and/or persons at a state facility.
• Agency shall respond to emergency situations using the appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed response by following established protocol at the authorized user location.
• Same sample duties as listed in Security Guard - Unarmed.
• Armed guard may be required to intervene to protect Staff, students, residents, customers and the general public from threat of violence or harm using a firearm, taser or another weapon.
