The vendor is required to provide security services for include:
- Service activities
• Maintain perimeter and campus-wide security.
• Maintain a daily shift log.
• Escort staff upon request.
• Manage screening, including operating metal detector and x-ray scanner.
• Handle contraband per hospital policy and maintain chain of custody.
• Conduct pat-downs and contraband searches per nursing direction.
• Notify hospital operator and nursing supervisor of unusual incidents, including elopements.
• Assist in pursuit of AWOL and escaped patients as directed.
• Report fires or emergencies and assist as needed.
• Report unsafe conditions or security breaches.
• Support ambulance crews and law enforcement as needed.
• Detain unauthorized visitors until law enforcement arrives as directed.
• Respond to hospital emergency codes: code 77 (elopement), code 200, code blue, etc. in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Complete written incident reports within 24 hours, or sooner based on the severity and impact, and participate in investigations.
• Assist with fire drills and documentation.
• Certify that personnel meet qualifications.
• Maintain valid state of security guard licensing.
• Attend monthly environment of care and other designated meetings.
- Management requirements
1. Personnel
• Provide trained supervisors and guards familiar with hospital operations to meet the manpower requirements of hospital.
• Use a designated personnel pool trained specifically for hospital.
• Ensure coverage of all posts with advance scheduling.
• Notify hospital of absences and all anticipated vacancies and provide time estimates for replacements.
• Perform background checks: criminal, employment history, references.
• Maintain minimum documentation of qualifications including required years of law enforcement and security experience, valid licensing, physical exams, immunizations, tb tests, and background clearances.
• Documentation shall be provided upon request, within as little as two (2) hours per joint commission requirements.
• Upon assignment to hospital, certify, in writing, that any new security patrol guards assigned to hospital meet the qualification requirements, personnel qualifications and requirements.
• Notify the contract administrator of any changes to security patrol guard personnel.
• Hospital reserves the right to reject or remove any supervisor or officer from an assigned duty without consent of the contractor.
2. Administrative
• Assign a dedicated account and contract manager to serve as liaison and resolve performance issues.
• Submit weekly staffing schedules to hospital.
• Immediately notify hospital of uncovered posts.
• Ensure return of hospital-issued property upon staff removal.
• Enforce mobile device policy.
• Records and audits
• Contractor must maintain accurate, up-to-date records and submit documentation upon request for audit or compliance purposes.
• Contractor bears cost for any investigations or audits related to its personnel.
3. Performance and evaluation requirements
• Comply with all professional conduct and performance standards.
• Ensure all personnel maintain a professional demeanor, follow hospital policies, and adhere to all standards of conduct. the contractor is responsible for behavior and actions of all contracted security personnel on campus.
• Investigate personnel-related incidents and submit reports with corrective actions.
• Maintain corrective action plans.
• Adhere to act and confidentiality policies.
• Participate in audits or investigations as required.
• Hospital reserves the right to remove individuals who demonstrate unprofessional conduct, incompetence, or disregard for direction.
4. Output and performance and outcome measurements
• Maintain full staffing with contingency planning.
• Provide documentation of training and licensing.
• Submit incident reports within hospital directed guidelines.
• Comply with service task documentation.
• Maintain logs and manifests.
