The vendor is required to provide security guard posts at agency require extensive agency -specific training, making repeated security guard turnover disruptive to agency operations.
- Perform the following services:
• Observe, proactively engage and report while performing the following services:
o Foot patrol service as described;
o Vehicle patrol service and special services as described;
o Revenue collection service as described;
• Recognize and respond appropriately to security threats;
• Serve as a uniformed presence to deter vandalism, theft, trespassing, or any other criminal activity.
• Enforce parking at metro areas and park and ride sites designated for metro buses and vehicles only.
• Enforce metro policies and rules at metro transit centers and facilities.
• Enforce transit laws as defined in penal code section 640;
• Recognize and respond to emergency situations and safety hazards such as fire alarms, power outages, medical emergencies and elevator entrapments;
• Maintain, test, and operate security equipment such as access card readers and radios;
• Monitor access to alarm systems and security and surveillance camera (cctv) systems;
• Prepare and maintain appropriate logs and reports of activities and incidents and include reporting of key performance indicators;
• Implement and enforce security and safety procedures as described in the post orders and as amended from time to time; and
• Make recommendations about changes to security and safety policies and procedures or about appropriate responses to specific issues, based on contractor’s own expertise and accepted industry best practices.
• Retrieve, categorize, and secure lost and found items.
