The Vendor is required to provide unarmed security services for their building that houses offices for division.
- Check all exterior doors, building perimeter, and parking lots at designated intervals. Examine and ensure buildings, offices, rooms, and windows are properly closed and/or locked, or otherwise properly secured.
- Ensure that only authorized personnel are permitted access to closed or restricted facilities and grounds through visual inspection of identification credentials.
- Positive photo identification shall be presented upon request, and security guards shall verify that the photograph on the id is the same as the person presenting it.
- Continually patrol all buildings on foot providing a visible security presence, investigating/reporting any questionable circumstances, activities, and suspicious behavior observed to appropriate personnel, and documenting any hazardous conditions or malfunctioning equipment.
- Patrol the parking lot and grounds of the location on a regular basis, providing a visible security presence, investigating/reporting any questionable circumstances, activities, and suspicious behavior observed to appropriate personnel, and documenting any hazardous conditions or malfunctioning equipment.
- One guard onsite at a time.
- Investigate unusual or suspicious conditions, intervene to terminate injurious acts, and notify appropriate authorities, when warranted.
- Assist law enforcement with criminal investigations, as requested, without tampering with potential evidence.
- Interact and communicate effectively and in a professional manner with clients, employees, and visitors; and, provide directions as appropriate.
- Provide assistance, directions, answer questions and otherwise serve as a central or visible source of information for visitors.
- Detect and report safety hazards that warrant an unsafe condition to appropriate personnel.
- Guards shall not carry, ingest, or be under the influence of an illegal or controlled substance while on duty.
- The only exception is medication as prescribed by a physician, and then only if the guard’s performance of his/her duties will not be impaired in any way.
- Guards will notify their supervisor immediately if they are prescribed narcotic medication for any reason, the supervisor and the manager, safety officer or his/her designee, will determine if the type of work can be conducted while under the influence.
