The vendor is required to provide for educational courses and services.
- Recognizes the nature of the work in a secured facility and assumes and accepts all risk of personal harm, bodily injury, death and/or damage to property.
- Provide in person/onsite instruction at JH, YGC, YLA, and MRC and online courses, as permitted by the county.
- Provide a college counselor or academic advisor to work directly with each youth exploring individual interests/talents and help create a road map of classes each youth should complete to fulfill their individual goals.
- Assist youth with completing federal student aid forms and assisting with applications for financial aid.
- Provide a transitional counselor/advocate to work with youth prior to release and upon release to assist with continuance of education, transportation to college campus, and help with enrollment/transfer to local community colleges, state and employment such as paid internships.
- Provide an adequate level of qualified personnel to provide educational services-college to the target population; personnel should have the appropriate certification to teach at the level of instruction offered. - Provide the youth priority enrollment in all classes.
- Provide class during regular school hours of 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and shall provide classes outside of these hours, upon request by the county.
- Provide onsite tutoring up to three times a week, as requested by county.
- Ensure academics standards meet transfer guidelines.
- Appoint a project manager to act as a point of contact and oversee the daily operation of the program.
- Provide laptops with basic Microsoft word and excel, writing supplies including pencils/pens, paper and Wi-Fi for youth to attend class; canvas software will be made available for youth to attend virtual classes.
- Provide security network system and security software to monitor internet use.
- Provide parking for onsite Contractors providing services under this contract.
- Conduct a background investigation on each individual identified as assigned to perform services onsite.
