Special Education Service

The vendor is required to provide for special education service providers as described herein.
- To ensure all students with disabilities receive high-quality instruction and related services in accordance with their individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Vendors capable of staffing a wide range of special education and support service positions across all school levels, including pre-k, elementary, middle, high school, and post-secondary transition programs.
- Due to persistent shortages of certified personnel and growing demands for specialized services, the district requires contracted support across both traditional school-based placements and self-contained programs serving students with low-incidence disabilities, including emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorder, and other complex needs.
• Instructional and program staff:
o Special education teacher (including those certified in autism and severe disabilities)
o Reading specialist
o Math specialist
o Reading specialists certified in Wilson or Orton-Gillingham
o Teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing
o Vision support teacher
o Orientation and mobility specialist
• Behavioral and mental health services:
o Registered behavior technician (RBTs)
o Board certified behavior analyst (BCBAs)
o Behavior specialist consultant
o School behavior analyst
o Social worker
o School counselor
o Bilingual school counselor
o Counselors of mental health
o School psychologist
o Bilingual psychologist
o School psychologist for early intervention
o Psychiatrist
• Therapy and related services:
o Speech and language pathologist
o Itinerant speech and language pathologists for early intervention
o Speech and language pathologist assistant
o Bilingual speech and language pathologist
o Occupational therapist
o Certified occupational therapy assistant (COTAs)
o Physical therapist
o Physical therapist assistant
o Audiologist
o Music therapist
o Art therapist
• Paraprofessional and nursing support:
o Paraprofessional
o Certified nursing assistant (CNAs)
o Registered nurse (RNs)
o Licensed practical nurse (LPNs)
o Certified school nurse (CSNs).
