3. K-5 writing instructional strategies
• Coaching by an author in residence
• Research-based writing program that aligns with state standards
• Modeling effective writing lessons
• Creating opportunities for students to publish the books they create
4. Student engagement
• Cooperative learning strategies
• Step by step strategies to increase student engagement
• Specific in the moment feedback to teachers on student engagement and implementation of cooperative learning
• Positive social skill development with students
5. Parent engagement
• Creating a resource center for parents to access academic support
• Conducting monthly parent workshops to promote interventions and strategies to reinforce foundational skills at home
• Coordinating meetings with families to address absenteeism
• Providing recommendations for community-based services to families
• Identifying and developing strategies to increase parent participation in educational matters
• Compiling materials and creating files for documentation of compliance with title i parent involvement components
