The vendor is required to provide qualified burn boss to prepare a fire management plan and prescribed burn plan for agency.
- Conduct hazard and risk analysis
• Review existing data, examine current conditions and predicted trends. include variables such as vegetation, topography, and weather.
• Establish base maps of agency, defining fire management units; wildland-urban interface; hazard severity zones; vegetation types, density, and configuration; fire history; infrastructure and areas at risk; and environmentally sensitive habitats. will require on-site assessments and consultation with staff.
• Develop a hazard assessment, identifying areas of high fire hazard and values at risk, and describing potential fire spread
- Prepare a fire management plan
• Develop a plan incorporating both short-term (immediate fuel reduction treatments) and long-term strategies (fire management actions).
• Treatments may include: fuel break construction, mechanical treatments, chipping, pile burning, understory mulching, hazardous fuel removal, etc.
• Proposed fire management actions are to include: wildfire suppression and containment, prescribed fire, use of fuel breaks or firebreaks, mechanical treatments and forest thinning, community outreach, and monitoring.
• Identify and prioritize units for hazardous fuel reduction treatments and fire management actions
