The vendor is required to provide timely and effective services for inspection, testing, and maintenance (“ITM”) on all fire protection systems campus wide.
- Fire suppression services
a. Extinguishers
• ITM requirements and frequency levels for fire extinguishers shall adhere to the minimum standards set under 2022 NFPA 10, “standard for portable fire extinguishers.”
b. Water-based fire suppression systems (wet/dry/standpipes)
• ITM requirements and frequency levels for water-based fire suppression systems shall adhere to the minimum standards set under 2023 NFPA 25, “standard for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems,” chapters 5 and 6.
c. Private fire service mains
• ITM requirements and frequency levels for private fire service mains and fire hydrants shall adhere to the minimum standards set under 2023 NFPA 25, “standard for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems,” chapter 7.
d. Fire pumps
• ITM requirements and frequency levels for fire pumps and associated equipment shall adhere to the minimum standards set under 2023 NFPA 25, “standard for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems,” chapter 8.
e. Water storage tanks
• ITM requirements and frequency levels for fire water storage tanks shall adhere to the minimum standards set under 2023 NFPA 25, “standard for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems,” chapter 9.
f. Foam systems
• ITM requirements and frequency levels for foam fire suppression systems shall adhere to the minimum standards set under 2023 NFPA 25, “standard for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems,” chapter 11.
g. Valves, valve components, trim
• ITM requirements and frequency levels for valves, valve components, and trim shall adhere to the minimum standards set under 2023 NFPA 25, “standard for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems,” chapter 13.
h. Inert gas systems
• ITM requirements and frequency levels for inert gas and aerosol suppression systems shall adhere to the minimum standards set under 2022 NFPA 2001, “standard on clean agent fire extinguishing systems.”
- Fire alarm and mass notification systems
• ITM requirements and frequency levels for fire alarm and mass emergency communications systems shall adhere to the minimum requirement of 2022 version NFPA 72, “national fire alarm and signaling code.”
• This includes the emergency call box located at the jet fueling station.
• Fire alarm system control and systems integration shall be coordinated with other standards within this document.
- Emergency generators and fuel oil systems
• ITM requirements and frequency levels for emergency generators and related fuel oil systems shall adhere to the minimum standards set under 2021 NFPA 37, “standard for the installation and use of stationary combustion engines and gas turbines.”
• Emergency generators and fuel oil systems may or may not be applicable.
• This will be determined by the authority.
- Elevator call boxes and ancillary equipment
• ITM requirements for elevator equipment shall comply with ASME a17.3-2023 and 2022 NFPA 72, “national fire alarm and signaling code.”

- Fire and smoke protective openings
• ITM requirements and frequency levels for fire and smoke protective openings shall adhere to the minimum standards set under 2022 NFPA 80, “standard for fire doors and other opening protectives,” and 2022 NFPA 105, “standard for smoke door assemblies and other opening protectives.”
• Fire and smoke protective openings may or may not be applicable.
• This will be determined by the authority.
- Aircraft hangars
• ITM requirements and frequency levels for fire protection systems serving aircraft hangars shall adhere to the most stringent standards and annual inspections set under thru 3.9 above as well as 2022 NFPA 409, “standard on aircraft hangars.”
