The vendor is required to provide that academic medicine and health services program (AMHSP)
evaluation service patient care along with their work related to research, education, administration and leadership.
- The AMHSP examined program goals, governance, and funding flows that helped develop the AMHSP as it is currently.
- To evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the AMHSP as a funding and service delivery model for Supporting and delivering the context of the current health system refocusing and implementation of new provincial agencies.
- To this end, this project seeks to:
• Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the AMHSP as a funding and service delivery model for supporting and delivering academic medicine in state;
o Involve developing a comprehensive evaluation plan, compiling data from multiple sources, meetings with stakeholders, and investigating cross jurisdictional comparators, to identify best practices and providing recommendations to better achieve ministerial objectives.
• Provide recommended changes that may be required for the AMHSP given the health system refocus and implementation of new provincial agencies, to guide best practices for providing academic medicine in state.
- The province requires the contractor to perform the following:
• Program review
o Review the AMHSP as an approach to supporting the provision of academic medicine:
o Develop an evaluation plan, which includes a compilation of data from multiple sources, information collection from stakeholders, and cross jurisdictional comparators to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of the AMSHP as an approach to the support and delivery of academic medicine within the context of the current health system refocusing and implementation of new provincial agencies.
• Best practices
o Review available literature and engage other jurisdictions as available to identify proven methods of delivering academic medicine, focusing on efficiency and effectiveness of governance, goals, and program output.
• Stakeholder engagement
o Develop a consultation plan and execute it to engage AMHSP stakeholders in this evaluation. this must include the key stakeholders identified. stakeholder engagement is anticipated to be largely virtual but may take place in person where feasible
• Report and recommendations
o Prepare a report synthesizing data collected during the project to advise on:
- The efficacy of the AMHSP as a model for delivering medical services, training, and research to state;
- AMHSP aligns with identified best practices in academic medicine;
- Provide recommendations for potential changes to the AMHSP to improve the program’s ability to deliver its mandate in academic medicine in state; and
- Provide recommendations for potential changes to the AMHSP that may be required given the health system refocus and implementation of new provincial agencies.
