The vendor is required to provide executive search firm services for the college.
- Position specifications and action plan:
• Working with the board of trustees, the consultant will prepare a written specification that outlines the required skills, competencies, position responsibilities, and criteria for job success.
• The consultant will develop, with the search committee, an action plan for accomplishing major steps in the search process.
- Research:
• The consultant will use its resources to identify relevant higher education and industry sources where prospective candidates are likely to be found.
- Prospect identification:
• The consultant will make selective outreach to sources and solid prospects to encourage interest in the position and identify individuals who meet the position specifications and who will contribute to the college’s mission and vision.
• The consultant shall report the progress of this process to the search committee at agreed upon intervals.
- Presentation of applicants:
• The consultant will present all applicants to the search committee.
- Applicant evaluation:
• The consultant will assist the search committee in the evaluation of each applicant’s management ability, technical competency, fit with the college’s values, culture, needs and other relevant characteristics.
- Applicant interviews:
• The consultant and the search committee will review the full pool of applicants and select from this pool a number of prospects who will be invited to interview.
• The search committee will recommend finalists for official campus visits and interviews with the board of trustees.
- References and background investigations of applicants:
• The consultant will contact individuals who are capable of providing insights about the applicants’ qualifications.
• The collective comments made by these references will be reviewed by the search committee.
• A background investigation will be conducted to include a degree verification, driving records, credit record, criminal record, and civil suits record.
- The consultant must:
• Be licensed to do business in the state at time of contract award,
• Have demonstrated experience in conducting national searches at the highest executive levels,
• Proven skill in working with a wide range of constituencies and stakeholders in developing consensus, • Facilitation of public forums,
• Recruitment of candidates, and
• Overall management of a public search processes.
- Provide one hundred and twenty (120) days for acceptance by the college from the due date for receipt of proposals.
- Invoice for payment describing the status and progress of the consultant’s performance.
- Contract Period/Term: 1 year
