Special Education Legal Services

The Vendor is required to provide special education legal services for including:
• Review, analyze and interpretation of the district’s current practices related to addressing the needs of special education students throughout the district.
• Representation during hearings, including mediation and arbitration and on a consulting basis on all issues arising from special needs students, parents or other guardians.
• Defense of the school district when parents contest the education, treatment or prescribed program for a special needs student.
• Attend monthly work session, board meetings or executive sessions when necessary.
• Provide professional development to administrators and staff on current and changes to special education law.
• Provide weekly meetings with district administration to review and address pressing issues related to special education matters.
