Legal Services

The vendor is required to provide legal services to be include, but not limited to the following:
• Advising council and senior municipal employees in matters of law affecting the municipality in written and verbal form.
• Attendance at meetings as required by council and the chief administrative officer to provide legal consultation and advice.
• Negotiating, drafting and reviewing policies, by-laws, contracts, agreements and public tenders when required.
• Prosecuting and defending legal actions commenced by or against the town.
• Appearing in court and other legal boards or commissions on behalf of the town.
• Advising town of supervisors and council in regard to employment law, labor standards and employee rights, human rights and FOIP.
• Other legal services as may be required from time to time and requested by council or the chief administrative officer or his designate.
