The vendor is required to provide legal services and representation for residential landlord-tenant matters which includes but is not limited to:
• Provide legal advice on general landlord-tenant law;
• Draft, or participating in the drafting, of lease violation notices as needed;
• Draft lease termination notices, notices to vacate, petitions for forcible detainer and other landlord-tenant documents as required;
• Represent authority [1] in forcible detainer proceedings in justice courts and county courts at law;
• Ability to handle a high volume of residential landlord-tenant matters in a timely and cost-efficient manner;
• Provide evaluation and strategy development on matters when applicable, including recommendations, and action plans;
• Engage with necessary third parties on authority behalf to resolve disputes, such as opposing counsel, property management companies, federal agencies, and insurance companies;
• Demonstrate efficient management of assignments and timely legal support;
• Provide regular status reports on the progress of the matters assigned to the firm;
• Identify and immediately notify authority of any potential conflicts of interest which may arise during the period of performance, and undertake the necessary immediate steps to eliminate the source of the potential conflict to the satisfaction of authority;
• Provide any additional legal services as mutually agreed upon by both parties; and
• Legal services may be requested by authority president and CEO, authority general counsel, or their designees.
