The Vendor is required to provide professional legal services as city attorney.
- Services for which fees and rates are requested include: general representation, special projects, litigation and municipal prosecutions.
- The attorney will be required to provide detailed, itemized billing for each category (including general representation), on a monthly basis.
- General representation
• Attendance at all city council meetings, boards and commissions. (Excluding the wind crest economic development corporation)
• Consultation with city council and city staff via telephone and email during normal business hours.
• Review and/or draft ordinances, resolutions, charter amendments and other documents in which the city has an interest or as required by state changes or council request.
• Review and/or draft contracts and other documents prior to city council action.
- Special projects
• Includes any unusually large projects defined as one that will require 20 hours or more of attorney time to handle.
- Counsel and litigation
• Includes both pretrial and trial activities for all litigation filed by or against the city which is not otherwise covered by insurance or risk pool coverage.
- Municipal court
• Represent the state of in municipal court or make a recommendation for appointment of a prosecutor to the city council to handle municipal court prosecutions.
• The court is held at (time) on (number of times) Tuesdays of each month.
