The Vendor is required to provide to procure professional legal services for agency recipients, hereafter referred to as “survivors” or “participants” (of the first-to-work program) who recently experienced or are currently experiencing issues of safety related to department which would adversely affect their ability to prepare for engagement in work activities and employment, safely and without risk.
- Prepare a plan with the participant to address the participant’s legal issues, and work accordingly toward the resolution of these issues.
- Temporary child custody, visitation rights, and financial support.
- Temporary restraining orders.
- Divorce including child custody, and child and spousal support;
- Consumer Law including debt collection; bankruptcy or consumer credit matters; utility hook-up or shut off; property repossession; unfair or deceptive consumer practices; and
- Housing issues including defense against or negotiation with landlord relating to eviction; public housing evictions or grievance; habitability of a housing unit or repairs; rent and security deposit issues; illegal lockouts; or utility shut off.
- The provider will be responsible for the continuity of services in the event of staff illness, medical emergencies, vacancies, or other situations that result in program resources that are less than proposed and contracted for.
