- Legal practice focus areas
1. Regulatory and licensing compliance
• Con applications, amendments, and renewals.
• State and federal licensure and certification compliance.
• OMIG audit response and oversight.
• Development and review of internal compliance policies consistent with HIPAA, CMS, and other applicable laws.
2. Operations and risk management
• Contract drafting and negotiation for vendors, staffing, and service providers.
• Guidance on patient care policies, resident rights, and governance.
• Support for incident response, internal investigations, and compliance reviews.
• Counsel on staff credentialing, employment, and disciplinary matters relevant to extended and long-term care operations.
• Support with guardianship representation or hearings.
3. Community and regulator relations
• Representation in communications and meetings with oversight agencies.
• Advice on transparency, public reporting, and reputation management.
• Guidance on community outreach and partnership initiatives aligned with compliance goals.
4. Audit and investigation support
• Response and preparation for OMIG, CMS, and DOH audits.
