The Vendor is required to provide legal services to the university, upon request by the university counsel, including representation of the university in selected matters.
- Requirement:
• Analysis of impact of ACGME accreditation requirements on implementation of this rural residency rotations program;
• Analyzing and advising the university health sciences center on any modifications to outstanding house officer affiliation agreements, or development of new agreements, with participating sites to accommodate for this rural residency rotations program, including methodologies for financially supporting hospital and clinic costs incurred in support of the rotations, and systems for other support of participating sites;
• Advising and assisting in developing and implementing programmatically a program of legally appropriate preceptor incentives to participate in the rural residency rotations, and systems for other support of preceptors;
• Advising and assisting in developing and implementing programmatically a program of legally appropriate funding of incentives to residents (who are organized under a collective bargaining unit) to select the rural residency rotation as electives in their program, and systems for other support of residents;
• Advising and assisting in determining legally appropriate methods for counting residents on either university hospital’s cost report or on the participating sites’ cost reports; and
• Advising university hospital, in implementing this rural residency rotation program, on compliance with applicable state and federal healthcare program fraud and abuse laws, rules, and regulations.
