Project Management Services

The Vendor is required to provide the project manager is a construction specialist responsible for the implementation of a broad range of capital renovation projects including designing, estimating, tendering, scheduling, supervising, negotiating and administering contracts.
- This includes reporting to the Assistant Director on all aspects of planning, design and contract administration.
- Services include:
• Prepares design proposals and manages construction contracts for minor modernization and renovation projects;
• Reviews drawings and specifications prepared by architects and engineers for modernization and renovation projects and prepares construction documents for project tender and department manager approval;
• Works in consultation with department teams to ensure client requirements are met during the design and construction of approved projects;
• Researches building products, investigates contracting issues, reviews and assesses the appropriateness to ensure department goals and school needs are met;
• Provides guidance and reviews functional planning, programming and interior design aspects by interpreting and enforcing safety and building code regulations, district requirements, good design practices and state infrastructure guidelines;
• Selects appropriate procurement methods in consultation with the department manager to satisfy user requirements through the development of contract specifications and drawings suitable for open and fair competition;
• Hours per week may vary according to project load and demands; hours not to exceed 40 per week without agency management approval at the regular rate.
• Agency closes for statutory holidays.
• Project manager compensation is based on hours worked.
• Project manager will have a workstation with network access located at agency central office within the facility services area.
• Mileage to be calculated and compensated from agency central office and based on internal rates currently at $0.62 per kilometer (subject to change).
• Agency will provide local laptop for network access.
