Professional Services

The Vendor is required to provide professional services for preparation of a design criteria package for a design-build public recreation center Services include:
1. Project Initiation and Site Analysis
• Conduct meetings with city staff to identify project goals, priorities, and constraints.
• Review existing plans, prior studies, and current site conditions.
• Document existing conditions, applicable zoning regulations, and key site limitations.
2. Design scope development
• Define key design elements, materials, and aesthetic considerations.
• Identify requirements for compliance with local codes, zoning, and accessibility standards.
• Ensure the proposed WORC reflects architectural compatibility with the surrounding built environment and / or master plan for Walton & one.
• Identify opportunities for physical connection to adjacent facilities, including a preferred pedestrian skywalk connection to the existing city parking garage.
• Develop general design guidance for sustainability, durability, maintenance, and accessibility.
3. Technical & functional requirements
• Establish specific site criteria, infrastructure needs, and space planning requirements.
• Outline requirements for utilities, storm water management, lighting, and landscaping.
• Define anticipated space types—such as a gymnasium, multi-purpose rooms, offices, restrooms, and storage—and establish relationships between interior and exterior functions (e.g., lobby access to gym, restrooms, etc.).
• Identify basic technology, security, and surveillance needs, including Wi-Fi coverage, a/v systems, and public interface features (e.g., screens, kiosks, and digital signage), as appropriate for a public facility.
• Ensure parking layouts include accessible spaces and routes in accordance with ADA standards and best practices for public facilities.
