The vendor is required to provide other types of cultural resources – such as paleontological, prehistoric, archaeological, or tribal cultural resources – are not included in this request.
• Conduct federal, state, and local records searches to determine if subject properties have been identified in previous historic surveys or inventories.
• Provide the history of subject properties based on archival research, literature or map reviews, permit records, and consultation with knowledgeable stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits to remote locations by vehicle or foot.
• Document and photograph subject properties, including site location, environmental setting, and features.
• Historic background, including the regional history, timeline of ownership changes, previous uses, and construction or alteration chronology.
• Evaluate subject properties against key historic criteria, including context, integrity, and significance.
• Conduct preliminary screening to identify properties that are ineligible for listing on historic registers.
• Apply relevant criteria to evaluate potential historic properties for eligibility on the national register of historic places, state register of historic resources, or a local register of historic resources.
• Prepare historic resources evaluation reports and department parks and recreation form 523 in accordance with the national park service secretary of interior’s standards and guidelines.
• Comply with applicable federal, state, or local historic resource regulations.
• Consult with the office of historic preservation, when needed.
• Prepare recommendations if proposed activities potentially have an adverse effect to historic properties.
• Support act environmental analysis by identifying mitigation measures or refining project alternatives.
• Oversee the implementation of mitigation measures to minimize effects to historic properties.
• Determine applicable municipal permitting requirements and support the permitting process.
• Attend and present at public meetings hosted by local decision-making bodies.
• Assist with the preparation of written reports or deliverables.
• Conduct peer review of reports or deliverables prepared by third-party consultants or external stakeholders.
• Recommend economically feasible maintenance and repair strategies for specific historic structures or districts.
• Prepare historic american building survey (HABS) documentation in conformance with the secretary of the interior’s standards and guidelines for architectural and engineering documentation.
