• Impacts such as:
o Differences in cost of living and types of wage-related challenges in different regions of the county.
o Potential impacts of a county-only minimum wage on economics near the county border.
o Variation across industries, including potential impacts on employment levels in different industry
categories and on the viability of businesses.
o Special considerations such as Medicaid or medicare-reimbursed services, summer youth employment, and others.
o Consequences of wage compression or avoiding wage compression.
o Indirect costs to the community or government of less than living wages, e.g., increased demand for
various county services.
o Calculation and methodology to establish the minimum wage and for annual adjustments.
o Enforcement provisions.
o Special exemptions or considerations deemed necessary.
o Present the key findings and elements as outlined above to the housing and economic development committee and county legislature.
o Assist with the drafting of a local law for adoption by the legislature.
