The Vendor is required to provide a conduct a detailed site assessment and develop a preliminary (60%) site design that explores the use of nature-based solutions to mitigate coastal erosion.
- Desktop Analysis & Data Collection:
1. Gather and analyze pertinent data to inform site design, modeling, and permitting requirements.
2. Data may include but is not limited to:
• Tidal datums, bathymetry, and geotechnical surveys
• Ecological and cultural resources analysis
• Hydrological analysis and site constraints evaluation
3. 30% Design Development:
• Identify design constraints and limitations
• Develop initial site concepts and layouts
• Conduct uncalibrated or calibrated numerical modeling as needed
4. 60% Design Development:
• Complete necessary calibrated numerical modeling
• Refine site layout with design updates
• Identify conceptual construction constraints (e.g., seasonal limitations)
• Prepare a detailed preliminary report summarizing findings, permitting, considerations, and feasibility for advancing to final design.
- 60% to 100% Design & Permitting (Contingent on Additional Funding)
1. 90% Design:
• Develop finalized engineered designs
• Provide an itemized costs estimate with construction options
• Submit all necessary local, state, and federal permit applications
2. 100% Design
• Finalize construction-ready documents and obtain necessary permits
• Revise estimated construction costs as needed
3. Bid Support & Construction Oversight
• Assist County staff with bid document preparation and contractor selection.
