The vendor is required to provide advocacy and legislative consulting services on the state level of government.
• Both proactively and at the direction of the village, advise and assist the village in developing and executing effective legislative and funding strategies to protect and advance the village’s needs and priorities.
• Research, prepare and lobby proposals desired by the village with government officials through personal contact, position papers, testimony and other such means as appropriate.
• Draft legislation in support of the village’s legislative priorities.
• Establish, strengthen, and maintain relationships with legislators, legislative staff, government agencies, boards and committees, and other relevant stakeholders to gain support for the village’s legislative priorities.
• Monitor legislation, arrange for bill sponsorship, perform issue analysis and brief village officials on legislative issues.
• Prepare monthly informational reports and action calls during legislative sessions to inform the village of the legislative process and status of village proposals.
• Perform other duties to advance the village’s intergovernmental relations.
