The vendor is required to provide professional services for include:
• Work is completed on-site during regular business hours at our local facilities.
• Observe children in classroom settings and provide oral and written recommendations to staff and parents regarding strategies to support children’s social, emotional, and behavioral development (observation, intervention applications, and case management activities.
• Consult with staff, including the education specialist, program manager and the site supervisor, whenever classroom observation indicates additional social, emotional, or behavioral supports for individual children or groups of children are needed.
• Review classroom behavior tracking documents maintained by teaching staff, and use this information to evaluate staff strategies and make recommendations for additional or different methods.
• Direct observation in addition to review of the classroom-maintained documentation is encouraged.
• While at each center, consult with parents as needed regarding parenting strategies, and ways to develop healthy family relationships to support their child’s development at home.
• Program staff can assist with scheduling appointments on an as needed basis.
• This is not intended to be long term counseling; but instead, is to provide a method to interact face to face with the parents in a controlled environment.
• If more long-term service and support is required than can be provided within the scope of this project, provide suggestions for additional resources to the parents and staff.
• As needed, may be requested to facilitate staff training and coaching and education at program locations during normal business hours.
• Work with staff and parents to accommodate the mental health needs of children with disabilities in integrating into the classroom.
• Provide focused individual child observations and provide recommendations for specific classroom strategies to the education specialist.
• Consult with staff regarding identifying and maintaining professional boundaries that affect their work.
• Participate in monthly data, strategy and teamwork meetings with program contractor staff
• Provide training, coaching and modeling to staff on applying recommended strategies for individual children and their families.
• All consultant provided reports or documentation remain the property of program and will remain in the child’s main file.
• A record of activity will be maintained by the consultant by completing at least the following tasks:
o Complete the appropriate record forms submitted by staff for referrals.
o Complete a brief written general summary of each classroom observation including any concerns and recommendations; submit to the program manager within
o Business days of the observation.
o Provide written and oral information regarding individual child focused observations using the child focused response plan and individual plan of support form for use in the development of individual behavior plans.
