The vendor is required to provide lobbying and governmental relations consulting services, including, but not limited to:
• Assisting the university in identifying key state budget priorities and opportunities, and addressing public policy issues
• Providing direct services and support to the office of government and community relations in the development of strategic relationships with key members of the state legislature, executive office, state agencies and departments.
• Identifying state legislation and legislative priorities that may impact the university’s operations or the higher education community.
• Assisting in the development and evaluation of strategy for the support, or opposition to pending or introduced legislation.
• Identifying potential university partnerships with the private sector, government, non-profit organizations and associations or communities.
• Lobbying for the university’s priorities and position on key appropriation matters, including:
o State base funding for university operations
o Capital outlay
o One-time and other supplemental appropriations
o Earmarks
• Must be accessible and available to schedule or meet by phone, virtually or in person with members of the government relations team, president and others affiliated with the university.
• Monitor and encourage the passage of legislation on matters that are consistent with the university's priorities and strategic vision.
• Provide a detailed annual report or summary of the activities, and accomplishments achieved, and challenges encountered, in the previous 12 months.
