The Vendor is required to provide the provision of critical incident response services and psychological support, including proactive workplace supports for government employee teams.
- Provide critical incident response services for workplaces and teams after an incident has taken place. Critical incidents may include death or injury of a colleague or client, a violent incident or threat of violence in the workplace, physical or psychological threat to individuals or communities, distressing events involving children or vulnerable clients, or any incident that has a profound effect on the emotional wellbeing of employees in the workplace.
- The critical incident support role is to provide immediate emergency consultation to people leaders and Human Resources to plan appropriate intervention services with additional follow-up during a limited period of time.
- The immediate consultation service must be available on all 365 calendar days in order to be available for 24/7 operations.
- The expectation is that a critical incident response will be deployed to the workplace within 24 to 72 hours of the initial consultation, unless otherwise agreed to by the manager of the workplace due to operational or workplace contextual factors.

- Design and deliver services to support workplaces that are at a higher risk of experiencing critical incidents or who may be prone to vicarious trauma, caregiver fatigue or other cumulative impacts of service delivery.
- These services should be customized to the context of the operation and the hazard and may include group-debriefing sessions, or regular ongoing caretaking or educational discussions that help groups face critical incidents to build resiliency, normalize their responses to stressful situations and increase their coping skills.
- Consultation services for managers to help them support the psychological wellbeing of their employees and support them to foster and sustain psychologically safe workplaces.
- Workshops and group learning events on various topics related to psychological safety and wellbeing. Examples could include stress, anxiety, coping skills, sleep, diet and exercise, healthy coping skills, resiliency and vicarious trauma.
- Workshops can be delivered through a variety of methods including in person, virtual platforms, and self-paced electronic courses.
- Intake service and initial consultation with workplace people leaders and HR of workplaces experiencing a critical incident to plan a critical incident response appropriate to the circumstances within 24 hours. The intake must be available 7 days a week.
- Provide critical response services to workplaces impacted by acute traumatic events. This could include group debriefing sessions and one on one support to individuals. Support would be primarily delivered in person in Whitehorse within a 24 to 72 hour period after the initial consultation.
