The vendor is required to provide communications consultant to update and implement its strategic communications plan and annual work plan.
- The primary tasks include:
• Update and maintain a list of key stakeholders and print, radio and television media within the attached strategic communications plan.
• Host and facilitate business roundtable meetings with the business roundtable groups in crosse and provide meeting summary.
• The business roundtable groups include members of the commission, area chambers of commerce, visitors’ bureaus and business owners working with the commission to promote passenger train travel and their communities.
• Track placement of all commission -related media and place it into a report for inclusion in the commission’s bi-monthly meeting packet.
• Providing social media content on the commission’s Facebook, x and Instagram accounts.
• Create a content calendar.
• Frequency of posting is flexible and negotiable.
• Hosting the commission’s website and keeping content current and relevant.
- The primary services include:
• Identify community relations opportunities where the presence of the commission or information provided by the commission could be helpful to advancing the commission purpose.
• Recruit current and former commission members to serve on a speaker’s bureau who provide updates to civic groups on the commission’s behalf.
• Coordinate or assist commission staff with preparation for and promotion of special events hosted by the commission or authority.
• Identify opportunities to coordinate communication with project partners and advocacy groups and advise the commission on how to facilitate coordination.
• Coordinating with project partners ensures accurate and consistent messaging.
• Coordinate public relations activities (press releases, news conferences, etc.) with project partners.
• Commission staff may require support to quickly respond to congressional and legislative requests.
• Create, pitch, and place opinion and editorial pieces in area newspapers and other publications for the commission.
• Update and produce public information materials about the commission and special projects, including but not limited to fact sheets, PowerPoint presentations, commission member spotlights, quarterly newsletters and an annual report, event invitations, signage, display boards and other material.
