The Vendor is required to provide a grant from the state sustainable agricultural lands conservation (SALC) program to fund the preparation of a city agricultural conservation planning strategic plan (“strategic plan”).
- The SALC Planning Grant will help the city work towards a strategic plan focused on agricultural land conservation, as well as recognize and protect the other co-benefits of conserving agricultural lands, such as those benefiting groundwater recharge, biological resources, reduction in vehicle miles traveled, and economic development, consistent with state and the city’s planning priorities.
- The strategic plan would also list any programs and projects for groundwater recharge infrastructure, as well as programs targeted towards beginning farmers, veterans, and opportunities for habitat and open space projects, as well as interpretative tribal opportunities.
- Budget: $500,000.
