The Vendor is required to provide employ a mixed-methods, stakeholder-centered consultation methodology designed to generate both depth and breadth of insight to inform curricular development and strategic planning for the future joint program.
- Requirement:
1. Focus groups
• The proponent(s) will design and facilitate targeted focus groups with key partner groups and community organizations to gather in-depth qualitative insights.
• Sessions will use semi structured discussion guides aligned to priority domains, including population health needs, desired graduate competencies, learning environments, priorities for medical education in PEI, and system capacity.
• Focus groups may be conducted virtually and in person, with findings thematically analyzed and synthesized.
2. Online anonymous survey
• An online, anonymous survey will be deployed to collect broad input across a wider stakeholder audience.
• The survey will incorporate quantitative and open-ended questions to validate and extend qualitative findings, identify priority competencies, and assess perceptions of future training needs and priorities for the faculty of medicine (FOM).
• Results will be analyzed using descriptive statistical and qualitative methods.
• Develop a set of questions designed to elicit important information from various groups, including the general public.
• It should be an online anonymous survey that provides individuals with the opportunity to provide qualitative responses to the questions asked.
3. Town halls and large-group engagement sessions
• The proponent(s) will plan and facilitate town halls or community forums to support transparent, inclusive engagement and capture high-level perspectives.
• Structured agendas will combine information sharing with guided discussion and real-time feedback mechanisms.
• Key themes and priorities will be documented and integrated into the overall analysis.
4. Analysis and synthesis
• Data from all consultation streams will be triangulated to identify convergent themes, gaps, and emerging priorities.
• Findings will be mapped to curricular implications and strategic considerations to support evidence-informed decision-making for the joint doctor of medicine (MD) program.
• Two separate reports will be delivered: (1) one for the curriculum needs assessment and (2) one for the strategic plan.
