The Vendor is required to provide comprehensive campaign consulting services for a $40 million fundraising campaign.
- The consultant will partner with University leadership, advancement staff, volunteers, and stakeholders to assess campaign readiness, define strategy, build infrastructure, and support the successful execution and completion of the campaign.
- Consultant will assist agency in:
• Assessing institutional readiness for a major fundraising campaign
• Defining campaign priorities, objectives, and funding goals
• Strengthening the case for philanthropic investment
• Maximizing donor engagement and solicitation success
• Supporting volunteer leadership and governance structures
• Providing strategic counsel throughout the lifecycle of the campaign
- The anticipated term of the engagement is expected to be one year and may include planning, quiet phase, public phase, and post campaign evaluation.
- Requirements: Proven experience leading campaigns of $25 million or more.
• Experience with public universities and/or comprehensive institutions. Strong expertise in campaign strategy, major gifts, and volunteer management. Ability to partner collaboratively with internal teams.
• The Consultant shall perform all services in a professional and timely manner, consistent with generally accepted industry standards for fundraising campaign consulting.
• The Consultant shall work collaboratively with University leadership, advancement staff, volunteers, and other designated stakeholders.
• All work products, reports, and materials developed under this contract shall become the property of the University.
• The Consultant must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including applicable state public procurement requirements.
- Campaign Readiness Assessment
• The Consultant shall conduct a comprehensive evaluation to assess the University’s readiness to undertake a $40 million fundraising campaign. Services shall include:
• Review of leadership alignment and institutional commitment
• Evaluation of advancement staffing, systems, and fundraising infrastructure
• Analysis of historical fundraising performance and philanthropic culture
• Identification of risks, gaps, and readiness indicators
- Campaign Strategy, Objectives, and Goal Setting
• Recommending campaign objectives and strategic funding priorities
• Establishing an overall campaign goal and individual sub-goals
• Ensuring goals are aligned with fundraising capacity and institutional priorities
- Case for Support Development
• Review and assess existing case statements and campaign materials
• Develop or refine a compelling, donor-focused case for philanthropic support
• Ensure messaging clearly supports campaign priorities and financial goals
- Prospect and Donor Analysis
• Review and analyze the University’s donor and prospect database
• Assess fundraising capacity across principal, major, corporate, and foundation prospects
• Identify and prioritize leadership gift prospects
- Campaign Planning and Implementation
• Develop a comprehensive campaign plan and timeline
• Advise on campaign phases, solicitation strategies, and donor engagement
• Support integration with ongoing fundraising and stewardship efforts.
