The vendor is required to provide medical and prescription assistance to individuals between the ages of 18 and 64 who have been denied for medicaid in the past 90 days and do not have any other form of health insurance.
- Fill outpatient prescriptions as needed within the normal hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday and 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturdays, Eastern Standard Time.
- Be able to provide generic or equivalent drugs when one is available to fill the prescriptions.
- Prescriptions shall be limited to a thirty-day supply.
- Provide electronic transfer of invoices (billing) to a local pc by-mail a minimum of monthly per clerk of court’s finance standards.
- Such electronic data transfer capability shall be operational within two months of start-up and the first billing shall begin within eight weeks.
- A name and phone number for technical assistance shall be provided in the event of file formatting issues.
- Pharmacy locations shall be connected to a common network using the same database to monitor patient information and manage the formulary.
- All locations must be connected to the central system that contains client information.
- Any physician can write a prescription; this includes primary care, specialists, emergency room physicians, dentists, etc.
- A pharmacist should be on staff as the main point of contact.
- Update and make readily retrievable at any time, all outpatient and drug data within the outpatient profile as each prescription is filled and refilled.
- Provide a monthly utilization and administrative report to include but not limited to the number of prescriptions filled, covered individuals, utilizing individuals including physician dispensing profiles and other reports.
- Pharmacy must provide dispensing cost per bottle (current generic drug pricing plus set dispensing rate per prescription = total dispensing cost), monthly to the designated contact person.
- Provide outpatient packaging material including labeling that meets all applicable laws and regulations.
