The Vendor is required to provide timely and efficient customs clearance is critical to ensure these items are delivered without delay, enabling departments to maintain service levels, meet operational timelines, and avoid unnecessary disruptions.
- Reliable customs brokerage services are essential to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, facilitate the smooth movement of goods across borders, and help region avoid delays, penalties, or added costs associated with import activities.
- Customs entry clearance: ensure timely clearance of all shipments on behalf of region.
- Documentation support: assist region in preparing all necessary documentation and information for the import and export of goods.
- Information submission: present required information to agency, by any means necessary, to enable the release and/or proper accounting of region goods, including in-bond transportation within state.
- Export assistance: support region in meeting documentation and compliance requirements of domestic and foreign jurisdictions for exported goods.
- Regulatory guidance: provide information and advice on applicable laws and regulations, including:
• Tariff classification
• Value of duty
• Federal/provincial customs and tax requirements
• Customs duties, refunds, drawbacks, remissions, and appeal processes
- Refunds and appeals: prepare and file refund claims, drawback and remission applications, and appeals, as directed by region.
- Dispute support: provide advice and assistance related to the seizure, detention, or forfeiture of goods.
- Status reporting: maintain and provide shipment status reports, including key milestones and estimated delivery dates.
- International trade agreement certification review: review and manage certifications, including blanket certifications where applicable.
- Consulting & logistics support: provide access to a dedicated team to respond to inquiries, resolve issues, and support region throughout the agreement term.

• Name of the region staff member who authorized the clearance
• Invoice date and invoice number
• Date of shipment and date received
• Type of shipment
• Description of imported goods
• Duties and taxes paid
• Customs order number
• Number of pieces and total weight
• Shipment cost, including any surcharges
• Subtotal, agency, and total amount.
