The Vendor is required to provide insurance brokerage services for its workers compensation, liability, property and casualty insurance services for commercial insurance products.
- Broker shall provide insurance brokerage, insurance administration, loss control and other related miscellaneous services to county.
- Reviewing the individual policies for accuracy and completeness prior to delivery.
- advising, reporting, handling all claims and monitoring the claims.
- Performing an annual evaluation and semi-annual loss review meetings to include a written comprehensive report.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding related to the county's areas of exposure and develop written documentation for improvements to the risk mitigation efforts of the county.
- Evaluate existing insurance contracts and claims history and make written recommendations concerning any changes, modifications, consolidations or additions to existing coverage necessary to protect the interests of the county.
- Identify additional programs, products and insurers capable of meeting the county's insurance needs and prepare bid specifications capable of properly quoting insurance renewals.
- Recommend products the broker considers to be the best products available within the industry.
- Present to the county in a clear and understandable format, a written evaluation of the results from each insurance quotation submitted in addition to a comprehensive financial analysis and recommendations for selection of an insurer for each type of risk.
- Provide verification of insurance coverage as needed by the county to satisfy lessors, contractors and other parties from whom the county contracts for services.
- Prepare insurance certificates and endorsements as requested by the county or its suppliers, contractors or vendors.
- Design alternative property approaches such as utilizing retentions, amounts subject to coverage, probable maximum loss based on loss history and potential, market availability, and cost effectiveness.
- Address questions of the county staff as necessary; respond to coverage or claims questions from underwriters or adjusters, feedback regarding insurance requirements in contracts or other documents that often requires a quick turnaround time for response by the broker.
- County staff will interact with broker on a regular basis, frequently on a daily basis.
- Provide assistance in the design and implementation of an effective safety and loss control program, including consultation with safety technician, departments and assist with safety training.
- Provide recommendations for loss control, exposure identification, restructuring of program or other improvement based on analysis of exposures and losses.
- Work with county staff to formalize a COI/contract management system including the development of departmental contract review procedures and processes.
- Assist in adopting best practices, communicating and training department personnel on their role, and establishing timelines for the review/approval process.
