The vendor is required to provide international insurance broker and risk management services for include:
• Serve as broker of record for insurance renewal and new coverages placed during the contract term.
• Assess the university’s current portfolio of international travelers and utilization data to benchmark and provide recommendations on coverage.
• Offer creative solutions and innovative suggestions for the university to consider, with the goal of improving our services to travelers abroad.
• Advise university on how best to organize current suite of policies (currently, two separate policies for different traveling populations and additional policies as needed and one-off – for example, sports performance coverage of athletic team travel abroad), and flexibility to re-organize as needed for better coverage or cost savings as a university.
• Ability to provide coverage for a variety of travelers, and unique needs.
• Ability to accommodate different payment methods (i.e., a blanket policy, a policy that is paid for by a university unit, personal travel extensions for up to 30 days before and after university travel dates that are paid for by the travelers themselves, etc.).
• Serve as an advocate for the university in negotiating insurance options and terms for renewal.
• Ability to serve as claims administrator and provide claims assistance.
• Disclose coverage additions and coverage restrictions on all renewal quotes in a chart format as compared to the expiring coverage.
• All coverage documents shall be received electronically within 90 calendar days of their effective date, with ability to enroll travelers.
• Provide benchmarking reports compared to the university’s peers on major coverage lines, and utilization data to the university.
• All additional requested reports, analyses, and recommendations shall be submitted in a timely manner as determined by the university and communicated to the broker.
• Provide professional development services in the form of training for university administrative staff (i.e., presentations, tabletop exercises).
