The Vendor is required to provide brokerage and risk management services for its property, casualty, fidelity bond, general liability, umbrella and other insurance coverages.
- Provide a full range of municipal services, including police, water, sewer and storm water, streets, recreation including parks, playing fields and sports facilities, golf courses, commercial and residential code enforcement, trash and recycling collection services, economic development, and planning and zoning.
- The Consultant will perform the following tasks:
• Assign staff to assess the city’s insurance needs and provide recommendations regarding the appropriate types of policies to purchase, coverage limits, and self-insurance options.
• Market of the city’s insurance coverage requirements to compatible insurance carriers. Evaluation of resulting bids and presentation of recommendations to the city.
• Represent the city, as directed, in any negotiations with insurers or prospective insurers and other parties regarding insurance matters.
• Administer claims submittals when requested by the city, in a manner that best represents the interests of the city.
• Present options to the city for financing insurance premiums.
• Serve as a resource for risk management and loss control services, training, and industry relations.
• Provide the city with an annual report within forty-five (45) days of the end of the renewal of the city’s portfolio program (currently April 1 of each year).
• The report will detail a schedule of policies in force, the coverage amounts, deductible amounts, premiums paid, and fees and commissions received by the broker in connection with each policy.
• Process for collecting and verifying vendor certificates of insurance to ensure compliance with city contract requirements.
• Process of electronically auditing safety and other equipment (i.e., fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, fall protection, AEDS, etc.).
