The Vendor is required to provide to perform recycling collection services for (26) condominium complexes situated throughout the municipality collect and remove recyclable items (comingle, newspaper, mixed paper, cardboard, single stream) from all complexes and deliver to a licensed facility for processing.
- All collected recyclables shall be delivered to one (1) site as specified by the town.
- Collection schedule shall be as specified by the town.
- The successful bidder (contractor) must comply with all state and local sanitary codes.
- Contractor shall respond to all complaints within 24 hours of their occurrence.
- Additional recyclable materials may be added to collection schedule as designated by the town.
- Collection of recyclables shall not be permitted to occur before 7:00am or after 6:00pm.
- For collection of steel or plastic containers made on an “as needed” basis, it shall be the contractor’s responsibility to make sure containers are serviced frequently enough to avoid overflow.
- Contractor must inspect steel or plastic containers for contamination prior to delivery to the recycling facility.
- All appropriate recyclables put out for collection shall be picked up regardless of quantity.
- The contractor shall not collect non-recyclable materials.
- If such material is mixed with recyclables at the curb, the contractor shall collect only the recyclable items and replace the inappropriate items, and leave a warning sticker.
- If appropriate items are mixed to the extent to make separation impractical, the entire contents of the container may be left behind with the appropriate warning sticker.
- Provide the town in writing with addresses to where there may be continuous issues, such as, unsuitable materials set out for collection or no container set out at curb
- Remove all spillage of material items resulting from own carelessness and shall clean any area affected by such spillage.
- Containers damaged through the actions of the contractor shall be replaced at contractor’s own cost.
